TERMS & CONDITIONS

All bookings are made against a specific vehicle in our fleet and are confirmed only once full payment or the agreed deposit has been received. Availability is not guaranteed until a booking reference has been issued by our concierge team.

The renter is responsible for providing accurate personal, contact and licence information at the time of booking. We reserve the right to refuse or cancel any reservation where information is incomplete or where verification cannot be completed.

Cancellations made more than 48 hours before the scheduled pickup time are fully refundable. Cancellations made within 48 hours of pickup are subject to a one-day rental charge. No-shows and same-day cancellations are non-refundable.

Chauffeur bookings follow the same cancellation schedule. Refunds are processed to the original payment method within 7 to 14 business days.

A refundable security deposit is required for all self-drive rentals. The deposit amount is determined by the vehicle class and is disclosed at the time of booking. The deposit is held via credit card pre-authorization or bank transfer, and is released within 3 to 5 business days of the vehicle being returned in the same condition it was collected, subject to any deductions for damage, unpaid tolls, traffic fines or excess mileage.

Self-drive renters must be at least 23 years of age and hold a valid driving licence recognised in Malaysia for a minimum of two years. International renters must present a valid passport and an international driving permit alongside their home licence.

Only drivers named on the rental agreement are permitted to operate the vehicle. Additional drivers may be added in advance subject to the same eligibility requirements.

All vehicles are covered by comprehensive insurance. The renter is responsible for any excess or deductible in the event of an accident, theft or damage, up to the limits stated in the rental agreement. Additional damage waivers may be purchased at the time of booking.

Insurance coverage is void in the event of unauthorised drivers, driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, off-road use, or any breach of these terms.

Vehicles must be operated only on paved public roads within Malaysia unless prior written consent has been given for cross-border travel. Smoking, transporting pets without prior agreement, and use of the vehicle for racing, towing, subletting or commercial ride-hailing are strictly prohibited.

Self-drive rentals include 300 km per day; additional kilometres are charged at the rate stated in the rental agreement. All traffic fines, parking penalties and toll charges incurred during the rental period remain the responsibility of the renter.

We accept bank transfer, major credit cards and corporate invoicing for approved accounts. Payment must be settled in full before the vehicle is released. Any additional charges - excess mileage, damage, fines, cleaning or late return - will be invoiced separately and are payable within 7 days of the return date.

These terms are governed by the laws of Malaysia. Any dispute arising from a rental agreement with DRIVE KL is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Kuala Lumpur. If any provision of these terms is held to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.
